Who is responsible for your information?

Peter Milton trading as Smart Life is responsible for personal information handled by the business. For privacy questions or requests, email smart-life.sales@hotmail.com or call 07847 179629. Our business correspondence address is being finalised; please contact us electronically in the meantime.

Information involved when you visit or contact us

When you send an email, call or message us, we receive the contact details you choose to share and the content of your enquiry. Please send only what is needed to answer your question and avoid sending card details or sensitive personal information.

Our hosting infrastructure processes technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as IP addresses, requested pages, browser information and the time of a request. The preview basket operates in the current page’s memory. It does not send us an order or payment information.

Why information is used

We use enquiry details to reply to you and manage the conversation. For general enquiries, our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in communicating with people who contact the business. Where you ask us to take steps towards a purchase, the relevant basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract. Necessary website security and reliability processing supports the legitimate interest in running a safe, working website. Information may also be retained or disclosed where a legal obligation requires it.

Service providers and external links

The website is provided through Sites hosting and Cloudflare infrastructure. Email enquiries are handled through our Microsoft Outlook mailbox. If you contact us through WhatsApp or social media, that provider also handles information under its own privacy notice. These services may process information outside the UK; their processing locations and arrangements depend on the service used.

Social and review links open external websites. Our site does not embed their feeds or videos. Review the destination’s privacy information before sharing information there. We do not operate customer registration, online checkout or a newsletter sign-up form on this preview site.

How long information is kept

Enquiry information should be kept only for as long as needed to respond, deal with follow-up questions and resolve any related complaint or legal requirement. The relevant criteria are whether the conversation remains active, whether a dispute is unresolved and whether a legal retention requirement applies. Technical records are subject to the hosting providers’ retention arrangements. Contact us if you need information about a particular record.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access or correct your information, request deletion or restriction, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and request portability where applicable. If processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it. Some rights have exceptions. Email smart-life.sales@hotmail.com to make a request; we may need enough information to confirm your identity.

You can raise a concern with us or complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. Contacting us first does not remove your right to complain to the ICO.
